Meet Captain Kyle, A Passionate Fisherman

Hello! My name is Kyle, and I’m delighted to share a bit about myself and why you should trust me as your captain. At 28 years young, I have a lifetime of experience fishing the stunning waters of the San Francisco Bay and ocean. From a young age, I learned the ropes and honed my skills working with my uncle Jon Yokomizo on the renowned Seawolf. His guidance and expertise in rock fishing have been invaluable to me. After college, I started working full-time as a deckhand and dedicated myself to perfecting my trade and learning to be the best fisherman I could be. I’m also passionate about giving people a hands-on fishing experience.

A Journey to Captaincy

At the age of 22, I earned my 100-ton master’s license, which propelled me to buy the Diamond. While owning the Diamond, I also worked as a full-time captain for another party boat, the Kingfish. I gradually built my own business and gained a loyal client base. After running the Kingfish for a few years, I finally decided to take the plunge and run the Diamond full-time. I was very blessed to have a busy schedule while running the Diamond.
I had always dreamed of a bigger boat and waited for the perfect one to come along. In October 2022, that opportunity presented itself in the form of the Lady K. With the support of my wife Kailey (a.k.a. Lady K), we purchased and transformed the boat into the fishing machine of our dreams. As a small family-run business, our goal is to make everyone’s experience on board a great one!

A Captain’s Commitment

As a captain, soon-to-be father (due in late January 2024), and husband, I am dedicated to providing our guests with an incredible time. Catching fish and maintaining a safe and clean vessel are top priorities for Diamond Sportfishing.
